The Kenyan Embassy in Berlin, Germany promotes bilateral ties between the two nations and offers diplomatic support. H.E. Amb. Stella Mokaya Orina, the Kenyan ambassador to Germany, met with Prof. Romanus Odhiambo, vice chancellor of Meru University of Science and Technology, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the Kenyan Embassy in Berlin.
They discussed in detail the Circular B-I/O project, that is a collaborative initiative between Meru University of Science and Technology and Germany’s Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung and -prüfung (BAM). The project intends to lower carbon emissions in the construction sector, create jobs and offer Kenyan waste management options that align with the circular economy.
Also present were Dr. Joseph Mwiti Marangu, Director of the Institute of Cement and Concrete at Meru University of Science and Technology and Dr. Wolfram Schmidt. Their participation underscored the collaborative efforts between Kenyan and German institutions to advance sustainable construction and waste management practices.
The visit to the embassy has been affiliated to The Institute of Cement and Concrete’s (ICC) core mandate, to focus on advanced scientific research, postgraduate training and community outreach.
Great efforts have been put in place to facilitate and enhance networking with key stakeholders from across the globe.This will be priceless in disseminating the latest advancements in Cement and Concrete technology to our institute.
