The Institute of Cement & Concrete (ICC) at Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST), represented by the Director Dr. Joseph Mwiti Marangu and Dr. Mohammed Rihan, PhD – Postdoctoral Researcher, ICC, recently held a strategic meeting on 14th November 2025 at the Radisson Blu Hotel Nairobi, Upper Hill. The meeting was honoured by distinguished partners from leading academic institutions, namely:
1. Prof. Pengkun Hou – School of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Jinan, China
2. Dr. Charles Cheruiyot – Civil Engineering Program Coordinator, Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI), Kenya
3. Dr. Tareg Abdalla Abdalla, PhD, Eng. – Postdoctoral Researcher, University of Jinan, China
The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in key areas:
i. Joint research projects in materials science, cement chemistry and concrete technology
ii. Faculty, researcher and student exchange programs
iii. Sharing laboratory resources and technical expertise
iv. Development of joint academic programs, training modules and workshops
