From July 10 to July 13, 2024, our team attended a vital training session conducted by the Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) at the scenic Lake Naivasha Resort. The focus of the training was on implementing ISO 17025:2017, the international standard for testing and calibration of laboratories

ISO Training

Representatives from The Institute of Cement and Concrete (ICC) participated in this training, led by Dr. Mwiti Marangu. The ICC team included Famau Jamil, Damaris, Anex Kimani and Nabea Erick. They were joined by participants from other laboratories across the nation, creating a diverse and collaborative learning environment.

The training covered an introduction to the laboratory quality management system. Participants learned about the history of quality management, various ISO standards and the importance of accreditation. The session provided a comprehensive overview of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, highlighting its significance in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.

This training was crucial for our team as it equipped them with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain high standards in our lab operations. By understanding and implementing ISO 17025:2017, we are committed to achieving excellence and ensuring the quality and credibility of our work.

We cheered on our team as they took on this important journey. Their dedication to learning and improvement was a proof  to our commitment to quality and excellence. This training enhanced our capabilities and strengthened our position as leaders in the field of testing and calibration.
