Lea Lauvlaund, an Energy and Environmental Engineering student from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), has successfully completed her enriching two-month internship (June-August 2025)  at the Institute of Cement & Concrete (ICC) at Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) under the IAESTE Exchange Programme.

Throughout her placement, Lea made valuable contributions to environmental assessments, life cycle analysis, sustainability practices, carbon market research, and circular economy initiatives within the cement and concrete industry. Notably, her involvement in the design of a pyrolysis kiln for processing agricultural waste demonstrated her practical commitment to advancing sustainable technologies at the Institute.

Lea was welcomed warmly by the ICC team, including Director Dr. Joseph Mwiti Marangu & IAESTE Project Coordinators Dr. Cecilia Wanjau & Dr. Beatrice Nyakera, who have greatly appreciated her dedication, professionalism, and collaborative spirit throughout her stay at Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST).

As Lea returns to Norway, we extend our heartfelt thanks for her smart work & enthusiasm, and we wish her every success in her future studies and career. The ICC team is proud to have been part of her international learning journey and looks forward to continued collaboration through the IAESTE network and related projects.
