The Institute of Cement and Concrete (ICC) at Meru University of Science & Technology (MUST) is delighted to welcome Chimango Chisuwo to the ICC family!
Chimango is an earth scientist & geospatial developer whose expertise spans mining, environmental impact assessment, and remote sensing applications. Holding a BSc in Environmental Management from the University of Livingstonia-Malawi, he brings valuable professional experience in mineral resource exploration, environmental monitoring and data-driven decision support.
He has developed world-class geospatial dashboards, machine learning models and smart water management systems as part of his academic and career achievements. Chimango’s impactful work also extends to Environmental & Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) for mining and infrastructure projects. These are comprehensive evaluations that aim to identify, predict, and manage the potential environmental, social, health, and safety impacts that a project may have on the surrounding environment and communities.
His passion truly lies at the exciting intersection of earth sciences, technology and sustainable development. We are thrilled to have such a talented professional joining our team and looking forward to the innovations he will contribute.
We are also delighted to announce that Chimango will be joining us as an MSc student in Cement & Concrete for the September 2025 intake. We look forward to hosting him and learning how his unique skill set in earth sciences, geospatial development and data-driven environmental management will align with and enrich the field of cement & concrete technology.
