
The Institute of Cement & Concrete(ICC) at Meru University of Science and Technology(MUST)- Kenya, is proud to announce the successful completion of its Applied Mineralogy Short CourseTraining. Twenty-five students participated in this intensive two-week program, held from 3rd-11th February, 2025 in collaboration with the University of Padua’s Department of Geosciences as part of the Erasmus+ KA171 Student & Staff Exchange Program.

The course was led by Prof. Gilberto Artioli from the University of Padua- Italy, who is a renowned expert in mineralogy, crystallography, and materials science. Prof. Artioli’s expertise in applied and environmental mineralogy, sustainable materials development, and advanced neutron & synchrotron techniques provided students with invaluable insights into the field.

The program aimed to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge of minerals, enhancing their competitiveness in various professional fields. This aligns with MUST’s commitment to delivering quality education, training, and research in Science, Technology, & Innovation (STI).

The event was attended by key figures including Vice Chancellor Prof. Romanus Odhiambo, ICC Director Dr. Joseph Mwiti Joseph, and Coordinator Mr. Andrew Nyabuto. Their presence underscored the institution’s dedication to excellence in these fields.
