We are excited to announce that LC3-TRC AFRICA housed under the Institute of Cement & Concrete (ICC) at Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) will host UNIDO stakeholders for a study visit to our Cement Laboratory on 11th November 2025.
This visit aims to explore collaboration opportunities as we advance sustainable construction practices and low-carbon cement technologies across Sub-Saharan Africa and beyond. LC3-TRC AFRICA supports the adoption of LC3 technologies and standards in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The key policymakers and stakeholders participating in the UNIDO study visit to LC3-TRC AFRICA include delegations from:
1. Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI)
2. Ministry of Environment and Climate Change
3. Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM)
4. Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI)
5. National Environment Management Authority – KE (NEMA))
6. Local cement producers like East African Portland Cement Company (EAPCC), Bamburi Cement PLC , Mombasa Cement Limited etc.
These stakeholders will represent the government of Kenya, industry, research and regulatory institutions essential to advancing sustainable cement technologies and construction practices in Kenya and Sub-Saharan Africa.
